Mr. Michael J. Maglocci, MAI, MRICS, has been associated with Joseph J. Blake and Associates, Inc. since 1982, and currently holds the position of Managing Partner of the Chicago office. He is also one of three members of the firm’s executive management committee.
Mr. Maglocci began his career with the firm in the former Rocky Mountain Regional office in 1982. In 1985, he was named Regional Manager of the Chicago office.
Throughout his career, Mr. Maglocci has steadily built an impressive roster of elite clients including banks, institutional investors, public pension funds, private individuals, development companies, real estate attorneys, and various other entities.
The majority of Mr. Maglocci’s real estate appraisal assignments have been performed throughout Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, and throughout the upper Midwest.
A large portion of his assignments include regional malls, power centers, community shopping centers, CBD and suburban office properties, industrial portfolios, institutional quality apartment complexes, full service and limited service hotels, manufactured housing communities, parking garages, residential subdivisions and condominium conversions. Additionally, he has performed marketability and feasibility studies and has engaged in consultation, litigation support and expert testimony for a variety of clients.
A graduate of Pennsylvania State University, Mr. Maglocci has been involved in real estate appraising since the completion of his formal education. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Real Estate.
Mr. Maglocci holds the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute and is a state certified general real estate appraiser in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. He also holds the MRICS designation as a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
Mr. Maglocci is active in both the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA) as well as NCREIF. He has served on the Appraisal Institute’s Masters Degree Appraiser Program Committee and was the liaison with DePaul University’s Real Estate Program and the national organization’s Non-Residential Demonstration Appraisal Report Subcommittee. He was also a member of the Appraisal Institute’s Regional Ethics Panel and served on the National Chapter Services Committee. He was elected to the National Board of Directors of the Appraisal Institute through 2011 and was a member of the Appraisal Institute’s Audit Committee. He currently serves on the Appraisal Institute’s Government Relations Committee. In 1999, Mr. Maglocci held the position of President of the Chicago Chapter of the Appraisal Institute, one of the nation’s largest chapters with over 800 members. He is a founding member of ICAP, the Illinois Coalition of Appraisal Professionals, and served as President in 2008.
